Corpus Christi split the lead when Mike Economos took a shot that got deflected by Joe Ginley pulling the IceRays within one goal at the 18:38 point of period one.
The Bulls scored the next seven goals in a row as Ryan Cole, Brady Ferguson, Gage Christianson, Matt Siekhaus, Mike Davis, and Tyler Deresky each notched goals to put Amarillo out to a 9-2 lead after 40 minutes.
In the second period, things got ugly when a delayed penalty was called, Bulls goaltender Paul Berrafato left the net to head to the bench. At that time, two IceRays got involved with an opposing player. Berrafato stepped in to intervene. At that time, Dillon Kelley came out of his net down ice and a brawl resulted.
Only one goal was scored in the third by the IceRays and it was courtesy of AJ Jarosz making the final score 9-3.
