Police were called to a shooting at the 3300 block of Casa Bonita in which a 14-year-old female and 16-year-old male sustained gunshot injuries to their lower extremities. Both the teens were taken to a local trauma hospital by CCFD Emergency Personnel.
Further investigation revealed the two teenagers were outside when a black four-door vehicle drove by and fired multiple shots at them, striking the victims in the legs.
The Gang Unit Drive-By Response Team responded and they were able to obtain several leads in the investigation. “At this point the shooting does not appear to be gang related,” said Gang Unit Supervisor Captain D. Mersing.
The investigation remains ongoing and the Police Department asks that anyone with any information on this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS or submit a tip online at www.888-TIPS.com. Tipsters will earn a cash reward if the suspects are arrested.
