Several Tuloso-Midway High School Band students competed at the Texas Music Educators Association Region 14 Auditions this past weekend at Alice.

“We had 10 students make the bands and two students advance to Area tryouts next month on Jan.12. Our students competed against schools from all over this region as well as Laredo. They will be performing a concert that is free to the public this Saturday at Flour Bluff HS Auditorium,” TMHS Head Band Director Raymond Chapa Jr. said.

The two students who will be competing next month at Area are Gabby Ortega and Isaiah Macias. They will be competing against many schools from San Antonio as well as the Rio Grande Valley for a chance to make All-State Honors.

“We are very proud of all  the students for a job well done! Congrats to the students and our TMISD Band Staff,” Chapa said.

Amorina Pearce- 10th grade- 2nd chair Flute Concert Band

Adriana Valdez- 9th grade- 5th chair Flute  Concert Band

Kathryn Flores- 10th grade – 2nd chair Bass Clarinet Concert Band

Trey Kocerek- 11th grade – 2nd chair Bari Sax  Concert Band

Briana Clayton- 11th grade- 11th chair Trumpet Concert Band

Chris Garcia – 9th grade – 8th chair Trumpet Concert Band

Chris Cheatham- 12th grade-4th chair French Horn Concert Band

Ricki Garza- 9th grade- 1st chair  Tuba Concert Band

Isaiah Macias-11th grade- 3rd chair Euphonium Symphonic Band ( Advancing to Area )

Gabby Ortega-12th grade- 2nd chair Euphonium Symphonic Band ( Advancing to Area )
