Beatrice Mata Garcia, 58, was taken home by Jesus Christ and his band of angels in the early hours of January 2, 2013. Beatrice was born on August 17, 1954 to Olegario H. and Olivia Gonzalez Mata in Kingsville, Texas. Beatrice was a parishioner at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas and a member of the Northwest Cancer Society. Beatrice was employed with Schlumberger as a Fleet Administrator for 26 years until reaching retirement. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Olegario H. and Olivia Gonzalez Mata.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Garcia of Robstown, Texas; her two daughters, Melissa Salazar of Robstown, Texas, Alicia (Raymond) Suniga formerly of Kingsville, Texas, three stepsons; Richard Garcia, II, Daniel (Lucelva) Garcia both of San Antonio, Texas, Joseph (Brianna) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, Mike (Lucy) Mata, Ruben (Margie) Mata, Olegario G. (Beatrice) Mata, Jr. all of Kingsville, Texas; two sisters, Concepcion (Florentino) Martinez of Kingsville, Texas, and Marta Mata of Chesterfield, Virginia. She was also blessed and adored by her 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who loved her unconditionally.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 and Friday, January 4, 2013 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
