Elva Trevino Barrera, 70, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 27, 2013. She was born on April 24, 1942 in Robstown, Texas to Gilbert and Margarita Elizaldi Trevino. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas as well as a registered nurse for approximately 50 years. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family she leaves to cherish her memories is her husband of 52 years, Humberto “Lefty” Barrera of Robstown, Texas; two sons, Humberto “Lefty, Jr.” (Aurelia) Barrera, Jr., and Brien “Buddy” (Delia) Barrera both of Robstown, Texas; four sisters, Olga Villarreal of California, Yolanda Gonzalez of Kingsville, Texas, Armandina Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas and Diana Pena of Murphy, Texas; two brothers, Oscar Trevino of Robstown, Texas and Gilbert Trevino, Jr. of San Diego, Texas. She was also blessed with three grandchildren, Humberto Barrera, III, Brianna Barrera, Gabriella Barrera and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be recited at 7pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Burial will follow to Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
