Solid Knockout Promotions and the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds are proud to announce that world-renowned, Enanitos Verdes will be live in concert on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 8 p.m.
Enanitos Verdes is an Argentinean successful rock/pop band that formed in the late 70’s by singer/bassist Marciano Cantero, guitarist Felipe Staiti and drummer Daniel Piccolo. Throughout their career, Enanitos Verdes has toured the world and gained popularity with some 18 albums and has become one of the most popular Spanish-speaking rock groups with classic hits like “I’m still singing”, “The green wall” and “For the rest of your days”. Enanitos Verdes’ has two Gold albums – Just Like Yesterday from 1992 and Distant Loves from 2003, as well as a Platinum album in Argentina, Big Bang from 1994. Enanitos Verdes also received a Grammy nomination for their 1999 album, Nectar. Their newest album that was released this year, Tic Tac has kicked-off their biggest world tour in their career that includes the United States.
Opening for the Argentinean trio is the long-standing brother duo known as Del Castillo, based in Austin, Texas. The Del Castillo brothers joined passions some 10 years ago, creating a unique flamenco-style that became well-followed as the band grew and toured. The intensity of the band’s live performance is centered on the two guitar-playing brothers. Del Castillo released their first album, Brothers of the Castle in 2001 and then followed-up shortly after with their second release Vida. In 2002 the band had the honor of winning “Best Band of the Year” at the Austin Music Awards and a few years later released their third album Brotherhood.
Eighteen year-old Monica Emid of Ciudad Victoria, Mexico will also perform live. She has been singing since she was seven years-old and is currently the host of her own radio and television show in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico. Emid performed on national television for the Nuestra Belleza pageant and was a special guest on the popular Spanish soap-opera, Corazon Indomable. She is scheduled to release her first album by the end of this year.
