The Texas A&M System Board of Regents approved the project scope and budget for expansion of the University Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Groundbreaking ceremonies will be Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The $27.5 million project will add new meeting and lounge spaces, an outdoor patio and increased dining options. Fall 2013 enrollment is expected to be close to 11,000 students, almost 5,000 more than when the University Center opened in 1999.
Construction will be in two phases with completion expected by the spring of 2015.
