A Corpus Christi Police Officer stopped a silver 2006 Dodge Ram at the 600 block of Cantwell Drive at 2:17 a.m. Saturday for driving with the headlights off. The driver of the truck, 38-year-old Philip Saenz was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer stopped a gray 2006 Chevy Malibu at the intersection of Agnes Street and Pueblo Street at 10:33 p.m. Saturday because the vehicle did not stop at a stop sign. The 32-year-old driver of the car, Nicanor Olivarez did not have a license issued to him. The officer discovered more than two pounds of marijuana in the vehicle and Olivarez was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for operating a vehicle as an unlicensed driver.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer stopped a white 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck at Greenwood at South Padre Island Drive Saturday night for an inoperable license plate light. The officer discovered the driver, 44-year-old Guillermo Garcia had a suspended driverís license and a municipal court warrant for his arrest. Guillermo was arrested and additionally charged for possession of marijuana for contraband found in the truck. Guillermo was then delivered to the city detention center.
Corpus Christi police responded to a single vehicle crash at the 9300 block of Agnes Street at 1 a.m. Sunday. The 42-year-old driver of the vehicle, Javier Salazar was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Salazar was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and to collect a specimen of his blood before he was delivered to the city detention center.
A 39-year-old woman reported her car stolen Sunday morning at the 3000 block of Daytona Drive. The 39-year-old woman told police she fell asleep at a party and she discovered her keys and her red 2008 Chrysler 300 gone. A Corpus Christi Police officer found the car at the 2900 block of North Shoreline at 2:35 a.m. and arrested 37-year-old Johnny Lugo (9/12/1975) who was found inside the vehicle.
A Corpus Christi police officer investigated a blue 2007 Chevy Avalanche parked on the shoulder of the ramp of State Highway 358 at State Highway 44 at 5:30 Sunday morning. The driver was asleep at the wheel. The Officer arrested 25-year-old Alex Irigoyen or Driving While Intoxicated with at least two prior convictions, and for Driving While License Invalid. Irigoyen was taken to the hospital to collect as specimen of his blood and then delivered to the city detention center.
A 42-year-old man reported to Corpus Christi police that an unknown man entered an open garage at the 3800 block of San Roque Creek Drive and removed a weed eater valued at $200 and then fled in a maroon Chevy Lumina.
Corpus Christi police officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Bartlett in reference to a disturbance with shots fired. The officers arrived at Bartlett but did not find a suspect fitting the description so they checked the neighborhood and located a 22-year-old man who met the description. The officer found the 22-year-old man had gone to a tire shop to swap out some tires with his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend. While at that location a male friend of 21-year-old woman started an argument with the 22-year-old man. As the 22-year-old man departed the tire shop he discharged a firearm into the air. No injuries were reported. The 22-year-old man was not arrested, but the investigation continues.
Corpus Christi police officers responded to the area of Villa and Reeves to look for a person involved in a disturbance at the 3600 block of Bartlett. When the officers arrived they contacted 32-year-old Ray Carranza who they found had a warrant for his arrest for Contempt of Court on a Possession of Marijuana charge. Carranza was arrested and delivered to the city detention center.
A 34-year-old man reported to the Corpus Christi Police that an unknown person had removed some fishing poles valued at about $2,300 dollars out of the bed of a pickup. The Officer was able to find most of the gear at a pawn shop.
A 35-year-old woman reported to Corpus Christi police that an unknown person kicked in the front door to her home on the 1000 block of Nandina Drive and removed a video game console and controller valued at about $400 dollars.
A Corpus Christi police officer went to a home on the 11200 block of Willowood Creek Drive and arrested 25-year-old Aaron Day for a probation violation warrant. Day was also charged with evading as he attempting to flee from the Officer through the back of the residence.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer stopped a blue 2007 Chevy Silverado at about 2 a.m. Monday morning for speeding at Bear Lane at South Padre Island Drive. The 31-year-old driver, Jessica Sandoval was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer stopped a gray 2009 Nissan Maxima for unsafe lane changes Monday morning at Interstate Highway 37 near Callicoatte Road at 2:58am. The driver, 28-year-old Cassandra Silva was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
