Victoria Pecina Rodriguez of Freer, Texas was called to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the age of 87. Her last moments were spent surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 29, 1926 in Reynosa, Mexico to Patricio and Juanita Pecina.

She will always be remembered for the love that she had for her family, children, and grandchildren. She devoted her life to her family. Victoria’s favorite color was red, which is a Biblical symbol of Love, Forgiveness, and Sacrifice. We celebrate the life she lived as a woman of Christ. Our Lady in Red will be dearly missed by all of the generations that were touched by her Blessings.

Victoria is preceded in death by her husband, George Antonio Rodriguez; her son, George Antonio Rodriguez, Jr.; her brothers, Fermin Pecina, Juan Pecina; her sisters, Maria Gonzalez, Cruz Alcantar, Socorro Moncada; grandchildren, Christian Casas, Alexandria Casas and Ruben James Casas.

She is survived by her children, Armando (Patsy) Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; Grace (Julio) Rangel of Robstown, Texas; Gloria (Rene) De Los Santos of Alice, Texas; Arnold (Nora) Rodriguez of McAllen, Texas; Marybelle (Ruben) Casas of Calallen, Texas; two brothers, Florentino Pecina of Mission, Texas; Filiberto (Lydia) Pecina of Reynosa, Mexico; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Interment will follow at the Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
