Dorwood Douglas Ford, Jr., 66, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. He was born on December 12, 1946 in Keyser, West Virginia to Douglas and Ester Kelley Ford. Dorwood proudly served our country in the United States Navy and later was employed for the maintenance department for a local apartment complex. He was a Christian and resided most of his life in Corpus Christi. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

He goes home to reunite with his parents, one son, Chad Ford, two sisters, Rita Lemond, Kathy Ford, and a granddaughter, Kayla Ford who preceded him in death.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his wife of 31 years of marriage, Evangelina Ford of Corpus Christi, Texas; Robert (Marissa) Ford of Chicago, Illinois, Lisa Moreno, Craig Thomas Ford both of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, Steve Ford of Washington, Robert Ford of California, Kevin Kelley of Arizona, and one sister, Bobbie Kaye Kelley-Cook of Maryland.

He was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, Alfredo Casas, III, Joseph Moreno, Destiny Muguerza, Jonathon Muguerza, Landin Thomas Ford, Leon Lopez, Hunter Ford, Dalton Ford, Chase Ford, Nevada Miles, Bryant Ford, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

A Prayer Service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Church of Hope in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Burial was private.
