Joseph “Jody” Havran passed away Tuesday August 27, 2013 at the Harborview Care Center in League City, Texas at the age of 65. He was born to Edmund and Mary Havran of Robstown, Texas on September 2, 1947.
He is survived by his daughter Jolene Mills and husband, James, of League City, Texas, sister Ginger Logue and husband, Earl, of Hallettsville, Texas, niece Diane Brown and husband, Tim, of Banquete, Texas, niece Laurie Balke and husband, Roger, of Corpus Christi, Texas, niece Amy Cheatham and husband, Jeff, of Corpus Christi, Texas, nephew Chad Logue and wife, Polly, of League City, Texas, and long-time companion and friend Geraldine Havran of Westphalia, Texas. Also, several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Havran of Robstown, Texas.
Jody retired from GTE (Verizon) after over 25 years of service in 1997. He was an avid golfer and won many amateur tournaments and had a hole in one as well.
A memorial service will be held at the Crowder Funeral Home in League City on Saturday, August 31 at 2 p.m. Jody requested his final resting place to be with his parents at the Robstown Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
The family would like to recognize his special friends Albert Rabroker of Westphalia, Texas and A.L. and Merrie Luprete of League City, Texas for all their support.
