This year Corpus Christi will host Roar to the Shore for their 20th Anniversary Motorcycle Rally.

As a part of their weekend list of activities, Ride for the Red, will be held as a charity ride on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to benefit local American Red Cross Chapter.

The event will start along the sparkling Corpus Christi bay and extend toward the island, over the ferry and through the bridge with stops along the way ending at Brewster Street Icehouse for a complimentary meal and beverage voucher. The first bike out will be at 9 a.m. and last bike out will be at 11 a.m.

Riders from outside of the Coastal Bend area will experience a ride like no other. “The route will provide a scenic opportunity for folks from outside our area to enjoy and appreciate our area” said Yvette Lara, major gifts officer. “The ride is near the coastal water which highlights a key feature of Corpus Christi.”

Ride for the Red will also focus and support a current American Red Cross program, Sending Comfort II …Until They Come Home, which supports our troops overseas. The Red Cross will have a booth at the CC BikeFest in which un-used comfort items can be drop off or monetary donations can be made.

To register for Ride for the Red, riders can sign up for $30 at under the schedule of events. All proceeds will support Red Cross Disaster Relief and Emergency Services to the Armed Forces in the 13 counties served by the local chapter, including Nueces, Jim Wells and Duval.
