A Corpus Christi business owner was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly stole items from an Alice Police officer's home, including a brand new Louis Vuitton purse, still in the box.

According to officials at the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department, Marisol Martinez, 35, owns Complete Cleaning Solutions, a cleaning company out of Corpus Christi.

A call came in Oct. 9 that the purse, a gold necklace valued at $6,000 and a gold watch had been stolen from a home in Alice off of State Highway 359.

Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office received a call that Martinez has just left the victims' house and was headed north on SH 359. They enlisted the help of the Orange Grove Police Department, where she was stopped.

Martinez was arrested and charged with theft, more than $15,000.

The suspect had the purse with her in the vehicle.

Officials said Martinez admitted to taking the necklace and the purse, but said she had nothing to do with the watch. She confessed that she had sold the watch to Gold Master in Corpus Christi.

The officials urged those using cleaning services to thoroughly research those persons, including checking references.
