Corpus Christi Police investigated a vehicle crash at Saratoga Boulevard and Airline Road Sunday morning that may have been caused by vehicles racing.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer responded to a single vehicle crash at 2:40am. The 21-year-old male driver and the 20-year-old woman passenger told the Officer they were not injured. Witnesses later told the Officer the crashed silver 2004 Cadillac driven by the 21-year-old man was involved in a race with another vehicle and the Cadillac lost control then struck a pole.

The Officer gathered more evidence of racing and initiated an offense report for racing and for a complaint of Filing a False Report to A Peace Officer against the 21-year-old man.

The 21-year-old man and the 20-year-old woman were released at the scene and the vehicle was towed due to damage.

No other damage or injury was reported.
