Francisco Valdez, Sr., 94, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 21, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born on October 04, 1919 in Laredo, Texas to Santiago M. Valdez and Petra Zarete Valdez. He was a Catholic and lived most of his life in Robstown, Texas. He proudly served our country in the US Army during WWII. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

He goes home to the Lord to reunite with his parents, his wife, Josefa G. Valdez; his son, Frank Valdez, Jr., and his sisters, Benita Valdez and Jovita Valdez who preceded him in death.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his children, Frances (Jesse) Leal, Maria Elena (John) Charo both of Robstown, Texas, Estella Torres of Houston, Texas and Juan Jose Valdez of Kansas; his brother, Apolonio Valdez of Austin, Texas; his sisters, Victoria Castro of Austin, Texas and Maria Cristan of Springfield, Texas. He was also blessed with 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
