The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is hosting several upcoming events for the month of Nov.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the SBA, through a strategic alliance with AARP, will host a small business mentoring fair. This is a free event encouraging entrepreneurship for those 50+ years of age. The SBA will participate with SCORE Corpus Christi in this Small Business Mentoring Fair, to explain their available resources to help small businesses start, grow and succeed. On Thursday, Nov. 21, the SBA and SCORE will conduct a free Two in One seminar to explain how social media can put your big ideas into immediate practice. Learn how to get started with social media marketing and how to make social media "connect" for your business. You will learn how to use social media outlets to channel your business, customer, and networking efforts, and how to define your strategy and create your plan before taking the plunge into social media. For start-up and existing small businesses you will also discover new tools and new ways to grow your business. SBA’s primary services and financing programs can help you start and grow your business. SBA loan programs will be discussed, as well as the free technical assistance from SCORE Corpus Christi & Del Mar College Small Business Development Center. On Friday, Nov. 22, the SBA will conduct a free seminar to help small businesses get started in Federal Government Contracting. Attendees will learn a step by step approach for becoming a federal contractor or subcontractor and the resources to help them. The Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) services to help small businesses in government contracting as well. The seminar is at 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the SBA Office, 2820 S. On Tuesday, Nov. 26, the SBA will conduct "The Basics of Starting Your Business and SBA Loans" seminar. The event is for start-up or existing small businesses to explain SBA loan programs, plus information on Starting or Expanding your business and the free technical assistance available to small businesses from the SCORE and Small Business Development Center.
