The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Cultural Services Division invites you to attend one of its Tamale Cooking Demonstrations to be held in the Galván House at Heritage Park.

Four demonstrations will be offered on Wednesday, November 21, 2013 from 10:30 a.m.–noon; Wednesday, November 21, 2013 from 6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10:30 a.m.–noon; Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 1:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m.

Join Sandra Vásquez, inventor of the “Mas Tamales” Masa Spreader, as she demonstrates how to make Tamales more efficiently with the help of a modern gadget. Sandra says that, “Tamale cooks can spread masa on a dozen corn husks in about a minute.” Let Sandra show you the quick and easy way to prepare tamales, and to learn more about tamales, visit her website at
