Miss Luisa Anna Medrano weds Dr. Mark Justin Cantu

Miss Luisa Anna Medrano and Dr. Mark Justin Cantu were united in marriage on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at four o’clock in the evening at The Ranch at San Patricio in Mathis, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Chaplin Ana Olivera-Hamm. Guitarist Tim Russell provided music for the ceremony. Eric Porras, brother in law of the bride and groom, and Mr. & Mrs. Javier and Esmeralda Limon, Primeros Padrinos, performed ceremony readings. On the eve of the wedding the bride’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Ranch at San Patricio Main House.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Manuel and Hilda Medrano of Robstown. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jose and Isabel Morales and the late Mr. & Mrs. Genaro and Hermelinda Medrano of Robstown.

The groom is the son of Mr. David Cantu and Mrs. Eunice Cantu of Corpus Christi. He is the grandson of Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert and Aminta Garcia and the late Mr. & Mrs. Juan and Consuelo Cantu of Corpus Christi.

Given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her brothers and her father, the bride wore a strapless fit and flare Enzoani gown with a sweetheart neckline. The gown featured hand embroidered lace on the bodice and a chapel train, complemented by a Spanish lace mantilla. The bride wore pearls gifted by the groom and carried a hand-tied bouquet, made by her mother, adorned with broaches and jewelry from each of her aunts.

Miss Maggie Medrano of Corpus Christi, sister of the bride, and Miss Catrina De Los Santos of San Antonio, best friend of the bride, served as Maids of Honor. Mrs. Melinda Cortinas of Robstown, cousin of the bride, served as Matron of Honor.

Bridesmaids included Mrs. Leslie Poses and Mrs. Jessica Porras of Corpus Christi, Miss Julissa Limon of Austin and Dr. Elizabeth Salazar of Denver, Colorado.

The flower girl was Aubrianna Grace of McAllen, cousin of the bride.

The Maids of Honor, Matron of Honor and bridesmaids wore a mixture of floor-length and tea-length chiffon and satin gowns in colors of blush, petal pink and rosewood. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink and peach roses.

Mr. David Cantu of Buda, Texas, brother of the groom, and Mr. Thomas Anthony Limon of Houston, best friend of the groom, served as Best Men.

Groomsmen included Dr. Adam Carter and Mr. Matthew Gonzales of Austin, Mr. Alexander Ionescu of Houston and Dr. Brandon Braud and Dr. Evan Cettie of Denver, Colorado.

The ring bearer was Jason Cohen Poses of Corpus Christi, nephew of the groom and Godson of the bride and groom.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Robstown High School. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and is now the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Texas Advertising program at UT-Austin. The bride is also a graduate student at St. Edward’s University pursuing a master’s degree in professional counseling.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of King High School in Corpus Christi. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. Dr. Mark Cantu now practices dentistry at a private practice in Austin.

Following a honeymoon in Belize, the couple plans to establish their roots in Austin, Texas.
