The Twenty-Sixth Annual Christmas Luncheon under the direction of Edward Herrera, Director and Marcy Santos, Assistant Director of Community Services and Elaine Bockholt, Activities Coordinator, was held at the Robstown Community Center on Thursday, December 12th with 160 people in attendance.
Following breakfast provided by McDonald's of Robstown, the Community Center presented "A Day With The King," a Christmas play which depicted four scenes from the life of Jesus Christ composed of a cast of senior clients and Andres De Luna as Christ as a child.
The cast and participants of the play were Trumpeter Joe Carmona of the Robstown Center, Frances Hernandez as Mary from the Driscoll Center, Andres De Luna as the Child Jesus, Andy De Leon as Joseph from the Bishop Center, Ed De La Rosa as "King of Kings" from the Agua Dulce Center, Noelia Pacheco as the Angel from the Banquete Center, Tomas Garcia as Jesus Christ from the Bishop Center, and Jesus Salinas as Trumpeter from the Agua Dulce Center.
Sam Santos, Sr. provided the music for the Sing-A-Long "He is the King."
Everyone was given a crown for this special day. Director Edward Herrera welcomed everyone. In attendance was Judge Loyd Neal, Commissioners Oscar O. Ortiz and Joe A. Gonzalez, State Representative Abel Herrero and many other elected officials.
Blessing of the meal was given by Robstown senior Alfredo Serna. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful turkey and dressing meal with all the trimmings prepared by the kitchen staff, Josie Hernandez, Irma Garcia, and Brian Truax. The "Sweet Adelines" sang Christmas Carols during the meal.
The Robstown Community Center would like to thank everyone for another successful Christmas program.
