Helio L. Perez, 92, entered eternal rest on Monday morning, January 13, 2014 at his residence.
Helio was born on May 5, 1921 in Brackenridge, Texas to Manuel Perez and Rosalia Llanes. He was a family man, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, and uncle. Helio was a workaholic, he was a master plumber, and was a business owner of Perez & Sons Plumbing in Robstown, Texas for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beatriz Tagle Perez; sons, Alejandro Perez & David Perez; grandson, Raul Perez Jr.; brothers, Manuel & Johnny Perez; and sister, Bertha Arrisa.
Helio is survived by his loving family, children, Bea P. (Richard) Mesquias, Rose Silguero, Raul (Sylvia) Perez, Helio (Becky) Perez Jr., Bertha Perez, & Mary Lou Schanen; 23 grandchildren, Hermildo Perez, Sarita Garza, Richard Mesquias Jr., Rudy Mesquias, Roland Mesquias, Rodney Mesquias, Brenda Ramon, Joe Silguero III, Candy Silguero, Michael Anthony Silguero, Anthony Saul Perez, Renee & Rena Perez, Peter John Schanen, Amie Schanen, Stephanie Skimmyhorn, Leo John Schanen III, Tammy Del Angel, Helio Perez Jr., Gayla Perez, Mary Lou Perez, Dina Perez Arrisola, & Beatrice Perez Charo; 41 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews, and brother, Federico L. Perez of Corpus Christi.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at United Baptist Church located at 900 North First Street Harlingen, Texas 78550. Funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. at the church with Pastor Ricardo Gonzalez officiating.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ramon Funeral Home in Robstown, Texas.
The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10 a.m. for burial to Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Richard Mesquias Jr., Joe Silguero Jr., John Schanen, Anthony Saul Perez, Hermilo Perez, & Rodney Mesquias.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Anthony Silguero & Rolan Mesquias.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home
