Calallenís Derek Scheible capped off his last year of high school football in style. The senior quarterback was named District 30-4A Most Valuable Player this season after leading the Wildcats to a league championship and a perfect regular season record. Senior linebacker Kade Young was selected as the districtís Defensive Player of the Year as he also helped Calallen reach the regional semifinals.

The Wildcats defense was widely recognized on the all-district teams. The unit that pitched five shutouts on the year also claimed the Most Valuable Defensive Lineman, Most Valuable Linebacker, and Most Valuable Defensive Back awards. Seniors Creyton McDermett, Trevor Moses, and Connor Lowrance received those honors, respectively.

But those were not the only superlatives Calallen earned.

Senior Tristan Crossland was Most Valuable Offensive Receiver and Cliff Fowler and Joel De La Paz shared the Coach of the Year honor.

Plenty of all-district selections came with the seasonís 11-1 campaign as well. Nine of those picks were first-teamers. With five members on the all-district first team defense, nine of 11 starters were recognized as first teamers or superlative recipients.

One of the most dominant groups in the area, the Wildcats front seven was well represented. Dakota Cooksy-Hale and Sheldon Bammert were first team on the defensive line, while Austin Revels joined his teammates in the linebacker corps on the first team.

Juniors Miguel Cantu and Chase Whetsel were first teamers at cornerback and safety, respectively.

The Calallen offense, which only scored less than 42 points once, had four members of the all-district first team. Running back Chris Price, center Matt Viera, guard Zach Roussel, and tackle Sean Vickers made up the first team selections.

For Tuloso-Midway, there were a couple of Warriors on the first-team offense. Matthew Dickson was a first-team fullback and punter, while Justin Nava was selected at guard.

T-M also had a pair on the first team defense. Cameron Havelka (defensive line) and Marc Reyes (safety) represented the Warriors.
