During the first City Council meeting to be held since the holiday break, the city council unanimously voted for Roxann Pais Cotroneo, a native of Corpus Christi, to be appointed as the new City Attorney on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Cotroneo, who has previously served as City Attorney in Harlingen and Executive Asst. City Attorney in Dallas, will begin her new role in Corpus Christi on Feb. 3. She replaces City Attorney Carlos Valdez as City Attorney, after he stepped down in Oct. to run for the judge seat in County Court At Law 4.
Cotroneo's starting salary will be $151,661.
