Forty young professionals under the age of 40 chosen to be this year's recipients of the Corpus Christi Under 40 (CCU40) were recognized during the CCU40 Mayor’s Breakfast held Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Omni Bayfront Hotel.

Honoring the movers and shakers of South Texas, CCU40 recognized the men and women dedicated to making a difference in the Coastal Bend for contributions in their professional fields and through service in the community.

The recipient of the CCU40 “Person of the Year” award was Liza Wisneran, who is an award winning business performance advisor and was a top 3 finalist on Season 10 of the television show, “The Apprentice”. A native of Nairobi, Kenya, Wisner came to the United States via a golf scholarship through Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Islander women’s golf team. She previously won the Kenya National Championship title and represented Kenya at regional and international golf championships.
