The early voting turnout in Nueces County has seen a slight increase since last year, with an overall 3.23% of voters casting their ballots as of Monday, Feb. 24.
Super Saturday turnout in Nueces County also saw a slight bump, with 592 ballots cast on Saturday, in comparison to the 515 ballots cast on Super Saturday 2010. 258 of those votes were for democrat, while 334 were cast republican.
During the first week of early voting, Nueces County cited 5,061 in-person and mail-in votes from Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 21. 3,713 of those votes were cast in person, while 1348 were mail-in votes. 1,825 voters chose to vote democrat, while 2,393 voted republican.
Early voting ends on Friday, Feb. 28, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the week. The main primary election day is March 4.
