The Robstown Police Department has identified a suspect in the attempted Mar. 12 robbery of the Stripes Store located on the 100 block of West Ave J.

21-year-old Mark Anthony Haupe now has a felony arrest warrant out for him, after a caller observed the surveillance video released by Police Department to local media outlets, and advised Detectives that she knew who the suspect was.

According to Detective Flores of the Robstown Police Department, the attempted robbery occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on the morning of Mar. 12. The suspect entered the Stripes store with a hoodie over his head and a red bandanna covering his face. Armed with a knife, the suspect then approached the register, pointed the knife at the clerk and demanded that she give him the money.

At that point in time, states Flores, the store clerk backed away from him, immediately picked up the store phone and ordered him to leave the store. When he saw that she was on the phone already, he did in fact turn away and leave the store without any money.

"We do have a felony arrest warrant for him. We have not been able to locate him. We're still trying to find him," said Detective Flores." Again, we ask the public that if they happen to learn of his whereabouts, contact the Robstown Police Department immediately."
