Weather permitting, a two-day project is scheduled to begin Thursday(March 27) to resurface southbound US 77 from I-37 to just north of FM 624 in the Nueces River area.
The project was set to begin Monday but had to be scheduled due to weather.
Work Thursdaywill begin on the middle and inside lanes, requiring closure of the flyover connector from northbound I-37 and the closure of the left lane of the southbound I-37 connector. Northbound traffic wanting to go south on US 77 should take the connector ramp for the FM 624 exit and travel on the southbound US 77 frontage road until the next entrance ramp.
On Friday, work will shift to the outside lane of US 77 southbound and the exit ramp for FM 624. This will require the closure of the right lane of the southbound I-37 connector and the exit ramp for FM 624. Southbound traffic heading to FM 624 should exit County Road 52, about one-half mile to the south, and then take the turnaround.
Traffic control will be in place for the lane closures. Motorists are advised to slow down, plan for additional travel time, follow all directional signs, watch for work crews and proceed with caution through work zones.
