Police seek men who stole bench from local church

Corpus Christi Police detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the persons responsible for a property theft that occurred on Jan. 27 at church in Calallen.

According to police, a 57-year-old man reported the theft occurred at approximately 1:43 in the afternoon on Jan. 27, at the Messiah Lutheran Church located at 4102 Trinity River Drive. The man has subsequently provided CCPD with a video of the theft, which shows a man dressed in a long sleeve shirt, denim shorts, white tennis shoes with sunglasses on his head as he peered into the church. In the video, the suspect then gets a tool to unfasten the bench from in front of the church. A second man comes up to help the man until they take the bench, which is valued at $400 dollars.
