The College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi honored Joe Adame as the 2014 G. Russell Kirkland Distinguished Visiting Executive on Wednesday.
Adame recently joined the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center as Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Adame, who now has an office at the Business Innovation Center, will be available to clients and staff for coaching, networking assistance, and general business advice.
Adame served two terms as Mayor of Corpus Christi and retired from his role in November 2012. As Mayor, he served as Region XX President of the Texas Municipal League; and as President of the Boards of the Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitor Bureau, Texas State Aquarium, and the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center.
Adame is owner of Joe Adame and Associates, a commercial/industrial real estate company dealing in real estate sales, leasing, management, appraisal, development and consulting. He has received many awards for his business savvy.
Adame is the 15th recipient of the annual award that was created by friends of the late Mr. G. Russell Kirkland and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to honor Kirklandís distinguished service to the development of the University, the city of Corpus Christi, and South Texas. Recipients are chosen for their personal accomplishments and contributions to the success of students, faculty, the University, and the Corpus Christi community.
