Manuel Landin, Jr., 78, entered eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Robstown, Texas. Manuel was born February 22, 1936 in Robstown, Texas to Manuel and Simona Castillo Landin, Sr., and had resided in Robstown, Texas all of his life.

Manuel married the love of his life Emma Gonzalez Landin and raised three daughters teaching their children the value of family, honesty, respect and love for others.

Prior to his retirement Manuel worked for the Robstown Independent School District and dedicated his life serving the community in his job as well as a proud parent and grandparent always supporting their school activities and careers. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Manuel’s sense of humor and contagious smile made instant friends for life. He was a member of the athletic booster club an avid Cotton Picker fan and could be found proudly wearing his red baseball cap with his loving wife, Emma by his side at most of the Picker games.

Mourning the loss of his loving wife Emma of 58 years on April 10, 2014 his journey without his companion became very hard to bear. His inseparable love for his wife has now reunited him with her in heaven and he will be missed by all those whose lives he dearly touched.

He leaves behind a legacy of love service to be cherished by his three daughters, Lydia (Domingo) Ortiz, Hilda Adame both of Bishop, Texas and Martha Landin of Robstown, Texas; his five grandchildren Ruben Tamez, Jr., Manuel (Candy) Tamez, Veronica (Garrett) Mooney, John David Adame, Steven Adame and four great-grandchildren, Mia and Ian Tamez, Tori and Austin Mooney; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
