The 15th annual LyondellBasell Global Care Day, a worldwide community service initiative, was held on Saturday, May 17. Locally, the LyondellBasell Corpus Christi Complex volunteers provided much needed maintenance to The Ark Assessment Center & Emergency Shelter for Youth.

The Ark, located at 12960 Leopard St. in Calallen, is a facility for abused and neglected children. The facility is open around the clock and offers children from birth to 17 years an emergency shelter, assessment and prevention services, and much more.

The maintenance provided during the event on Saturday included a butterfly garden, trimming trees around the facility, cleaning flower beds, planting a vegetable garden and cleaning The Ark’s storage facility.

This is the fifth year in a row that the Corpus Christi plant volunteers have assisted The Ark.
