Lilia G. Barrera, 90, entered eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Lilia was born on March 18, 1924 in El Sauz, Texas to Jorge and Maria Del Refugio Garcia, and had resided in Robstown, Texas most of her life. Lilia was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. She was loved by everyone that knew her and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Her loving memories and legacy are left to be cherished by her children, Caesar (Hilma) Barrera of Wasilla, Alaska, Yolanda (Juan) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas, Gracie (The Late Bobby) Gonzalez, Humberto Barrera, Sandra (Jerry) Suarez all of Robstown, Texas, Belinda Barrera and Manuel Barrera, Jr., both of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Zulema Munoz of San Antonio, Texas and Idolina (Natividad) Escobar of Grand Prairie, Texas. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Rick Barrera, Audrey Resendiz, Armando Leal, Jr., Ryan Suarez, Roberto “Trey” Gonzalez, III., Jennifer Garcia, Marcus Gonzalez, Jesse Leal, Cesar Barrera, Jr., Selina Barrera, Tessia Barrera, Kassandra Barrera, Michael Leal and Humberto J. Barrera; six Great-grandchildren, Lilia Resendiz, Ryan Suarez, Jr., Arabelia Resendiz, Jett Leal, Adrianna Silva and Rhyder Leal and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
