The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District is announcing its new Childhood Healthy Weight Program and (MEND -Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, and Do it) Hotline number. Classes are free and parents who wish to participate may call (361) 826-MEND (6363).
The program consists of two comprehensive, community education courses focusing on helping children and their families live healthier lives. The classes are for children ages 2-6 and ages 6-13 and participants must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver to attend this 10-week program. Children ages 6-13 must meet the 85% BMI (body mass index) requirement. Children ages 2-6 have no weight requirement. Applicants must be under insured; Medicaid or Chip eligible.
