Murder suspect Jessie Salazar, 18, turned himself in on Monday afternoon after police issued an arrest warrant on him.

At 6:39 a.m. on Saturday, Corpus Christi police officers responded to a suspicious person call at a home located at 2222 Ruth Street.

A 15-year-old boy called police after he went outside of his house and saw a man lying on the ground. Officers found a 29-year-old man victim down a driveway on the east side of the house underneath the stairway leading to an upstairs apartment. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was dead at the scene.

Officers were able to contact several witnesses who heard gunshots in the area at about 10 p.m. on Friday night. Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a call for shots fired at 10:08 p.m. on Friday night in that area and recovered an unfired bullet, and at this time it is unknown if that evidence is related to the homicide. Officers did not see the victim at that time due to the darkness and the victimís position.

Corpus Christi Police Homicide detectives are investigating this crime.

Salazar's bond was set at $250,000.
