The Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Community Pride, Dusty Durrill, Whataburger and Corpus Christi Solid Waste Operations have teamed up to roll out the Picky Pete Clean-Up program for the 2014-2015 school year.
A program will be revealed and will take place Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. at Windsor Park Elementary, 4525 S. Alameda Street.
Created by Corpus Christi developer and philanthropist Dusty Durrill, the Picky Pete Clean-Up program teaches kids the importance of picking up litter at their schools and serving as role models for others. First introduced to CCISD in 2010, the program has grown steadily and is now in place in more than a dozen schools.
Mayor Nelda Martinez, along with representatives from the Corpus Christi Police Department, Corpus Christi Code Enforcement, the PRIDE Committee and other partners will be on hand to discuss this successful collaboration.
