A Ranch and Range Field Day has been planned for Saturday, Sept. 6 by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Jim Wells County Beef Committee. Livestock producers interested in profitable range and livestock management strategies are encouraged to attend. The field day is being held at Agua Poquita Ranch West, 5.4 miles south of Benavides on Highway 339. It will start with registration at 8:30 am and conclude after a catered lunch at 1 pm.

The program will cover cow/calf management practices for profit. Market conditions will also be discussed in relation to replacement female options and breeding and feeder cattle price descriptions for the region. Additionally, range management practice and theft prevention and recover will be discussed.
