On Oct. 18 & 19 the city of Robstown will be having its Annual Cottonfest at Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. There will be free admission and parking to the general public.
Festivities will include food, games, and a parade which will begin on Saturday the 18th at 10:30 a.m. There will be Carnival rides as well as a car show for everyone to enjoy. Live entertainment will include DJ Kane, Albert Flores Y La Juventud, Los Arias and more.
There will also be the Cottonfest Queen 2014 Pageant in which participants can compete for Jr. Miss, Sr. Miss Cottonfest. The pageant will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday Oct. 11 at the Robstown High School Auditorium.
In addition to the weekends Pageant there will also be a cook off that will be sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association. Competitors will compete for a prize of up to $10 thousand.
The parade which will take place on Oct. 18 will begin at the corner of Matiana Ortiz Blvd, and Main Ave. The route proceed to Upshaw Blvd where the parade will conclude. On the day of the even the parade is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
In addition to the above mentioned activities Cottonfest will also be featuring obstacle courses and moonwalks for everyone to enjoy. Vendor booths, Turtle races and other contests will be held.
