Texas A&M Corpus Christi will be hosting Island Day for local high schools in the area to come see the campus and "test the waters at the Island University." This is part of a program that will allow students see the campus and find out what a higher education in the area may have to offer them as they prepare for their departure from high school.
Island Day is Corpus Christi's campus preview program and is designed especially for prospective undergraduate students to learn about the diverse and changing student life of an Islander. Online registration is now open via the TAMUCC website and onsite registration is also available in the Island Hall Gym.
During Island Day students will be able to participate in a number of activities including a guided tour of the campus with Island Ambassadors. On this tour the participants will have the opportunity to learn about the Universities programs as well as explore their own academic interests with the help of the universities faculty.
With the various services offered to its students the Island University hopes to exhibit how it meets the needs of Islander students at this event. During the event potential students will discover just how they can get involved with university in a number of different ways.
Admissions counselors as well as financial assistance representatives will be on hand to answer any potential questions the students may have concerns about. Associates of the campus housing department will also be available should participants have any questions in regards to attending as an on campus resident.
Attendance to this event is $10 dollars and this includes program materials as well as lunch on the day of the event. Students and parents should note that this is a family event and all parties are welcome to attend and participate in the days activities.
