Port Corpus Christi Authority, the Cities of Corpus Christi, Portland and Gregory and Counties of Nueces and San Patricio signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Tianjin Commission of Commerce, Peopleís Republic of China. The MOU was signed in a formal ceremony, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the Solomon P. Ortiz International Center 402 Harbor Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78401.
Esteemed delegates from Tianjin, China and the Coastal Bend region joined together in the signing of the MOU. The purpose of the MOU is to promote friendly contact, culture exchange, and cooperation to benefit the future of the regions surrounding Corpus Christi, Texas and Tianjin, China. Additionally, both regions will work together to facilitate investment in each otherís region, promote cooperation, exchange of technology for the benefit of key industries, and create a friendly commercial environment.

Not only are we getting national focus, we are joining with international groups to bring business and industry to the Coastal Bend. Today we take another great step in developing our economy." ďAs the port continues to develop the infrastructure needed to support the region's economic development efforts, it is important to build strategic business partnerships to facilitate the consolidation of negotiations, and also promote and exchange knowledge to create favorable conditions for new business opportunities for the Coastal Bend."
