The Coastal Bend Community Foundation is pleased to announce the receipt of a contribution of $550,000 for the Coastal Bend Community Foundation General Scholarship Endowed Fund. This is an unrestricted scholarship and graduating high school seniors who are permanent residents of the Coastal Bend Community Foundation’s seven-county service area (Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio and San Patricio) are eligible. There are no restrictions as to college major or college/university to be attended.

Twelve $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students for fall 2015/spring 2016. Once selected, the scholarships are renewable for sophomore, junior and senior years provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA in their college courses. $500,000 will fund the scholarship’s endowment allowing awards to be given into perpetuity. “We are very excited about this gift – it establishes the Foundation’s largest scholarship endowment, as well as its most inclusive,” says Karen Selim, President & CEO of CBCF.
