On the evening of Tuloso-Midway Independent School District held a public hearing regarding the the Texas Academic performance Report. Following the event a regular board meeting was also held.
After establishing a quorum the meeting was called to order and the public hearing regarding the Texas Academic Performance Report began in which school performance was discussed. Academic standards being a priority to the district the Tuloso-Midway board members expressed the districts mission to educate every student to be a lifelong learner.
It is the goal of Tuloso-Midway to condition their students to be people of integrity as well as a positive contributor of society.
As the regular board meeting began speaker Lori Genzer gave her presentation for Vgoal. The presentation was in regards to Tuloso-Midways Night at the Ice Rays Campaign Kick-off.
On the evening of March 14 at 7 P.M. the Corpus Christi Icerays will take on the Wichita Falls Wildcats at the American Bank Center. The proceeds of this event will go towards the Vgoal campaign which allows students with disabilities to attend school from their home or care facility.
Many students are not able to attend school to do extended illnesses, immune deficiencies, or debilitating injuries. From long-term use for homebound students to short-term use for students VGo is being used by hundreds of students in the area.
This kick off campaign will benefit those students in the Tuloso-Midway school district that depend on this service to attend school.
Following the presentation there was a public open forum in which allowed members of the community and parents to express their feelings and views with an allotment of 5 minutes per person. This portion of board meetings is limited to a total of 15 minutes and is included when notices of board meetings go out.
At the conclusion of the public forum the board adjourned for a closed session of the meeting. Following the closed session the actions resulting from the boards deliberations regarded personal matters such as the hiring of certified personal.
In addition there was the topic of administrator contract renewals and non-renewals. The conclusion of these matters was the discussion of the contract extension of their superintendent.
Following these matters the board meeting was adjoined.
