On February 19, 2015, Angelita T. Tamez went to be with her Heavenly Father. Angelita was born in Karnes City, Texas in 1915. She married Juan T. Tamez and together they raised their three sons in Robstown. Angelita managed their neighborhood grocery stores, Nebraska Food Market and Tamez Grocery.

During the summers she would travel to California to work at Meyer Tomatoes and visit her brother, son and grandchildren. She was an active volunteer member of the Blue Angels and the Nueces County Senior Citizens for over 30 years. Angelita was also a member of Sociedad Mutalista de Cuauhtemoc.

Angelita is survived by her three sons: Chief S.T. “Dino” (Rebecca) Tamez, Ret. of Robstown, Robert (Antonia) Tamez of King City, California and Enrique “Henry” (Ercilia) Tamez, of Corpus Christi. Ten grandchildren, Sulema Tamez, Javier (Amy) Tamez, Noemi Tamez, Melissa (Joel) Rodriguez, Melinda (Jeffrey) Sherman, Melina (Rod) Trujillo, Melvia (Corey) Kuchta, John Robert Tamez, Elizabeth (Carl) King, Edward (Amie) Tamez, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
