The Tuloso-Midway Warriors played well in spots Monday night, however, a rough first inning set the tone for the night.

Playing in a rained-out game Monday night in Alice, the Warriors gave up five unearned runs in the first two innings and ended up losing, 7-5.

The loss drops Tuloso-Midway to 10-10 for the season and 2-8 in District 30-5A. Alice inched forward in the tight district race to 4-6.

Joseph Perez took the loss for the Warriors. He started strong, but a dropped ball in the outfield with two outs gave the Coyotes a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Perez walked the bases loaded and walked in two runs.The Coyotes scored a total of three in the second.

Behind some solid hitting, Tuloso-Midway scored three in the fifth and two in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.

Nathan Freitag went 2-for-3 with two runs for the Warriors. Caleb Rozypal was 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Rozypal and Cameron Havelka each had doubles in the game.
