A 49-year-old man was injured by gunfire Sunday night when two men robbed the man in front of his home on the 4700 block of Angela Drive. A 45-year-old woman told Corpus Christi Police Officers that she and her 49-year-old husband parked in their driveway at about 10:50pm and were approached by two men.
The 45-year-old woman told Officers that one of the two men asked if they wanted to buy a cell phone, but then displayed a pistol and demanded the purse and wallet from the 45-year-old woman and 49-year-old man. The 45-year-old woman told Officers that the man with the gun shot the 49-year-old man after the valuables were handed over.
The 49-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance with an injury to his chest and leg which Officers believe are consistent with gunshot wounds. Medical staff told Officers the man is expected to recover from his injuries.
Officers contacted at least one other witness to the event. The 45-year-old woman described the two attackers as men about 18 years of age with dark-colored skin and the men were last seen running from the scene toward West Point Road.
The 45-year-old woman said one of the men wore a gray hoodie with dark pants and the other man wore a white shirt with dark pants. The woman did not report any other injuries or property damage. The two suspects have not been captured.
