Victoria Wahlen has been officially ranked as Calallen High Schools Salutatorian. With her hard work in the classroom Victoria will be graduating distinguished and has been awarded the Nordstrom ď10 4 UĒ National Scholarship making her one of only 80 students awarded out of over 11,000 applicants.

In addition Victoria was also the Coke Flint Hills Scholarship and Nuieces Electric Co-op Scholarships. We had a chance to speak with Victorian about graduation and what her future plans are.

Q: What was your reaction when you found out you were officially ranked as Salutatorian?

V: I was kinda nervous because we have to give a speech and everything but I was very happy.

Q: Are you excited for graduation?

V: Yes, I think it symbolizes the rest of your loire and itís a growing up stage but it will be exciting.

Q: Are you going to miss your school?

V: Oh I love Calallen High School, itís a great place and I have been here all my life.

Q: Where do you plan on attending college after graduation?

V: I plan on going to UTSA for Mechanical Engineering.

Q: What made you want to pursue Mechanical Engineering?

V: Probably Math, that and job availability. My dad is an engineer and itís very diverse I want to take one path but you can get into a lot of other fields.

Q: Are you looking forward to the San Antonia area?

V: It will be an adjustment like doing my own dishes and laundry ect, and I am going to miss my family.
