The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Senior Community Services will be hosting the 20th Annual Ms. Coastal Bend Senior Pageant on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi’s Performing Arts Center, 6300 Ocean Drive, at 3:00 p.m. Contestants will participate in four events: interview, evening gown, talent presentation, and present a statement that conveys her “philosophy of life.”

The 2015 Ms. Coastal Bend Senior Pageant’s contestants are Lourdes Albeto-Litz, Mattie Brownlow, Jean Chathman, Mary DeAses Peralez, Amy DeLeon, Cyndi Duarte, Maria Gomez, Sylvia Portales and Victoria Shirley. The contestants are from Corpus Christi, Texas and Alice, Texas, and their ages range from 60 to 73.

The goal of the pageant is to motivate and encourage senior women to utilize their full potential and to share a positive outlook on life with others. The pageant is based on the belief that ‘Seniors are the foundation of America. It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society.’

The local winner will represent the Coastal Bend in a state pageant, and the statewide winner will compete for the national title. The reigning Ms. Coastal Bend Senior is Rosie Garcia.

Ms. Coastal Bend Senior Pageant is a non-profit organization and depends on the support of the community. Tickets are $10 pre-sale and at the door.
