David G. Urrea, III, 60, from Sandia, Texas; was welcomed home with loving arms by our Heavenly Father on June 9, 2015. He was born on July 14, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to David Urrea, Jr., and Maria Elena Deleon. David was a truck driver for HEB for over 35 years. He was a legend of the HEB transportation Hall of Fame and 2006 driver of the year. He was also an active member of St. Pius Mission in Sandia. David took pride in being head cook of the Rosewood Smokers barbecue cooking team, president of the Sandia Gun Club, and a member of the Black Pot Dutch Oven Society where he faithfully dedicated his time on the weekends. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.

David goes home to reunite with his father, David Urrea, Jr., and his brother, William Urrea whom preceded him in death.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife of 40 years, Esther Urrea; his children, David (Yvonne) Urrea, IV, of Robstown, Texas, Noe (Victoria) Urrea of San Antonio, Texas, William (Melissa) Urrea of San Marcos, Texas, Joseph Urrea (Teresa Le) of Houston, Texas, Clarissa Urrea of Sandia, Texas; his mother, Maria Elena Urrea of Corpus Christi, Texas; his brothers, Jesse (Felicia) Urrea of Sandia, Texas, Gus Urrea of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sisters, Mary (Vance) Martinez of San Patricio, Texas, Nelda (Johnny) Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, Cindy (Florencio) Villarreal, Belinda Urrea, and Zina Urrea all of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was also blessed and adored by his six grandchildren and loved by his numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Pius X Mission (CO Road 360, Sandia, Texas 78383) with Father Chris Becerra as the main celebrant. Burial will be at Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas.
