KINGSVILLE — Former Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco and Calallen pitcher Sebi Palacios is headed back to South Texas.

Palacios, a native of Premont, recently became the 11th member of the Texas A&M University-Kingsville 2015 class of signees signed by head baseball coach Jason Gonzales. The right-hander joins the Javelinas after playing two seasons at Midland College.

Palacios tallied five saves and three wins for Midland on the hill, including four in 2015. A setup specialist in 2014, he appeared in 20 games and went 3-0 with a 3.42 earned run average.

No stranger to South Texas, Palacios spent the 2013 campaign as a starter for Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, winning all three of his starts. In 13.2 innings, he collected 19 strikeouts and limited opponents to a .184 batting average. Before his senior year at Calallen, Palacios was a starter for the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco Badgers. As a junior, he was a part of the Badger team which won that program’s 10th-straight district championship.

Palacios joins Michael Box (Humble), Ruben Almaguer (Deer Park), Hunter Lehman (Kyle), Michael Rohland (League City), Jacob Foitek (Denton), Alex Canul (Edinburg), Donovan Lewis (Alvin) and high school teammates Jordan Gunter, Timothy Johnson and Preston Plovanich (Santa Fe) as members of the 2015 Javelina signing class. All 11 signees are from the Lone Star State.

Palacios on why he chose Texas A&M University-Kingsville – "Kingsville is a great fit because its engineering program is second to none."
