Lauro Castillo, 92, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. He was born on August 18, 1922 in Bishop, Texas to Aurelio and Paula Sanchez Castillo. He was a Catholic and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served our country in the US Army during WWII. Lauro was a book keeper for Texaco for 35 years and with the City of Robstown. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Lauro is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Teodora Perez; and two grandsons, Juan Chagoya and Angel Castillo.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years of marriage, Guadalupe Castillo; his children, Fela Gonzalez, Ms. Marty Chagoya, Lauro “Tato” (Sylvia) Castillo, Jr., Luis (Sylvia) Castillo, Maryann (Dan) Gutierrez, Aurelio (Rosario) Castillo, Pedro “Peter” Castillo, George (Cindy) Castillo, Cynthia Ann (Jerry) George, Steve (Esmeralda) Castillo, Rolando Castillo, Roxanne (Augustine “Tino”) Briones; his sister, Tomasa Castillo Landeros. He will also be missed by his 31 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 & Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Burial with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
