City employees, their family and friends will gathered Saturday, June 27th at the City Hall parking lot at 8:30 A.M., to take part in a motorcycle ride in memory of Chief of Police Floyd Simpson. The large turn out of people took part in this ride which took them over the Harbor Bridge.
In 2013, Chief Simpson and City Manager Ron Olson realized they were both motorcycle enthusiasts and began a City employee motorcycle ride. This year’s event will be dedicated to the legacy of Chief Simpson who passed away suddenly May 3rd in a motorcycle accident in Port Aransas.
Interim Chief of Police Mike Markle said, “Chief Simpson loved motorcycles and his rides were something he enjoyed, he would want us to continue this annual event.”
