The City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering office advises residents of the following road closures and no parking areas in preparation for the Mayor’s 4th of July Big Bang Celebration. No parking areas will start Friday, July 3 at 5:00 p.m. and road closures will start Saturday, July 4 at 7:00 a.m.
Northbound Shoreline Boulevard will be closed between IH 37 and William Street. Traffic traveling northbound on Shoreline Boulevard toward the closure, will be shifted onto the southbound lanes starting at William Street and redirected to northbound IH 37. Traffic traveling southbound on IH 37 to Shoreline Boulevard will detour onto Water Street.
Street parking will not be allowed on both sides of Shoreline Boulevard along the street closures and towing will be strictly enforced.
Shoreline Boulevard will be closed between IH 37 and Resaca Street.
Water Street traffic, between Belden Street and Resaca Street, will be in one direction heading northbound toward Resaca Street. Chaparral Street, between IH 37 and Hirsch Street, will be in one direction heading northbound toward the Art Museum. Mesquite Street, between Hirsch Street and IH 37, will be one direction heading southbound toward IH 37.
Fitzgerald Street, Palo Alto Street and Power Street will be closed at Mesquite Street, Chaparral Street and Water Street. Only residential access will be allowed on those streets. Street parking will not be allowed in and around the street closures and towing will be strictly enforced.
Belden Street and Resaca Street will be the only side streets to allow traffic heading east toward Water Street and the Barge Dock.
The Police Department will provide closures and/or alternate traffic routes after the firework display, if necessary, to move traffic out of North Beach and onto the highway.
Parking in the SEA District and along the Seawall is limited so people are encouraged to use the Park and Ride. Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the road closures.
NO PARKING, TOW AWAY ZONES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORECED IN ALL AREAS.
